When i know that i was going to TARC i felt very insecure because of the language barrier that exist within myself. Being brought up in an english educated family with a primary education in a national school as well as in secondary therefore i know little to nothing when it comes to the language so forth known as, Chinese which remains as a virgin territory to me. Because of that i took the initiative to learn some of simple chinese words which are often used in simple conversations like, "Want to eat? What time is it? Where, why, how and etc".
When the time came, i entered my first class. I am indeed lucky to have found someone that spoke English. Seems like it was not too bad because at least i found someone speaks the same language as i am. Currently my group consists of people whom i speak in English and Cantonese. Sometimes they speak Mandarin among themselves so i use that opportunity to further improve my Chinese vocab, i hope by the end of my diploma i would be able to converse in Chinese!
They say that college/uni are the best times in ones life. I hope that is true. I took the initiative to be a part of a committee of a society. Everything seems nice to me as i felt like i was at home with a comfortable environment around me. I hope what the future has installed for me will be kind to me!
Recently my good friend has got into trouble but he is doing better now. I hope he continues to recover!
